Data Science Challenge
Part2 – Data Science
Team Competition
PLACE
Online
REGISTRATION CLOSED
SUBJECT 1: Object recognition and segmentation (Deep learning)
Given a series of images tagged as objects, applicants would have to create a categorization algorithm that can detect not only one but multiple objects in an image. We could either focus on detecting one object in particular, considering a large number of possible outputs (road signage), or see how applicants would try to segment an image in order to get different objects at the same time.
The objective would then be to answer this question: How many objects can you recognize? A subject simple enough to put into production a model that would recognize one object, but open enough for applicants and teams willing to go further.
Subject 2: Sentiment analysis
Sentiment analysis is a classic, a subject that is unmissable in the field of data science, and studies related to artificial intelligence technologies in general. Since it is common, we could use a difficult dataset, one with high bias and/or grammatical errors. Such issues would put applicants in front of textual data that they could encounter on a daily basis while working for Human Resocia. One example could be political speech analysis, where participants would face sarcasm and imprecise information. Another one could use twitter messages, trying to process data with a lot of typos and bad writing habits.
The objective would then be to answer this question: To which political candidate this speech is affiliated? Or is there sarcasm in the given sentence? Subjects simple enough to be put into production with a naive approach, but open enough for applicants and teams willing to go further, for real applications such as moderation or chatbots.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
- Need to find your team members to form a team of 2 to 4 members (One-person teams are not allowed)
- Each team has two weeks to tackle the two topics
- Evaluation will cover not only the correct answer rate for the topics but also teamwork and presentation in interview
